Growing up it wasn't Mickey Mouse who was my cartoon icon it was two characters- Courage the Cowardly Dog and SpongeBob Square pants. SpongeBob was an upbeat happy character like Mickey but the difference was he could mess up and not many people liked him but he still came out on Top always sure of himself. I didn't just see SpongeBob as a hero I saw him as a friend as a little kid. Now they are making a live-action 3-D movie with humans. Now I am pissed.
I wouldn't be pissed about the 3-D thing but I am pissed about the human thing. SpongeBob is like the Transformers where he doesn't need human characters to work- he's just fine. Heck SpongeBob the animated movie is a perfect SpongeBob movie where he grows and changes and goes through a character arc. Now I know how everyone who is a transformers fan feels.
