A popular theory going around is that the title role of Dr. Strange will be played by none other than British UK actor Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Khan, Julien Assange.) Sadly those rumors seems to be false as while at the panel for 'Penguins of Madagascar' Cumberbatch said:
“As far as I’m aware, even if that was the case, it couldn’t work out because I’m doing a little play called ‘Hamlet’ in London,” he said. “So I don’t think I could even if that was in the cards. It sounds like a fantastic project. It’s a shame if I miss out, but who knows?”
While this could be a cover for himself (A.K.A Paul Rudd when he denied being Ant-man) I am lead to believe this is false. While I wouldn't mind seeing Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange I have this theory/feeling that the whole Cumberbatch thing was a cover itself to hide who really is The Sorcerer Supreme, and I have a feeling if we don't find out during SDCC we might find out during the mysterious Guardians of the galaxy post credit scene (this is just a theory however as well.)
