This weekend the only two movies that seem to be coming out are Get hard and Home ($26). Both look like a lot of fun. We won't know until either one comes out, Home looks cute and a fun buddy road trip movie with aliens and I do like Jim Parsons. Get Hard seems OK and I really like both Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell.
Here's how I think they will do.
Get Hard
Budget: N/A
Weekend box office: $30-$40 million
Domestic box office: $65-$75 million
International box office:$ 95-$120 million
Worldwide box office: $160-$195 million
This is one of those movies I think will probably do mediocre in it's opening weekend because I think people are getting sick of Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell when he's outside of Anchorman and animation form yet steadily gain it's budget (which I could not find) back and gain some cult hit status.
Home
Budget: $132 million
Weekend box office: $25-$35 million
Domestic box office:$75-$85 million
International box office: $85-$95 million
Worldwide box office: $160-$180 million
I do not see this movie doing that well mainly because the reviews or word of mout have not been that great and no one has been really talking about Home. Also how in the world did they manage to spend roughly about $132 million dollars on a animated movie that while really colorful doesn't have that revolutionary of animation, the Lego movie cost about $60 million dollars and is way more technically impressive.
Weekend box office
1.)Insurgent
2.) Get Hard
3.) Cinderella
4.) Run all night
5.) Gunman
6.) Home
7.) Kingsman
8.) Do you believe
9.) The Second best exotic marigold hotel
10.)Focus
That's the weekend box office and see you Friday for my editorial.
