Editorial~ Marvel Slate

Last Tuesday Marvel put me and the rest of the internet on an excitement high that still exists right now as I right on a late Saturday evening. I was suppose to write this on Thursday but I kept forgetting to do it. So basically I'm going to review the entire slate with my thoughts on each movie.

Captain America: Civil War

  When this was first only pitched as a rumor I was not too thrilled because while I like Civil War in the comics I didn't think it would make a good movie. However after hearing people pitch ideas around and Kevin Feige saying they were going off the page for this I am really excited. I hope unlike Civil War they do go all grey instead of claiming to go grey and really do a mostly black and white story. This has so much potential to be great and it is super exciting that this is where we will finally met Black Panther/T'Challa.

Doctor Strange

   Awesome I love Doctor Strange and pretty much anything with Magic. We knew this was going to get officially announced because they already announced a director and have been throwing around names for leads. What interests me is the fact they haven't announced Benedict Cumberbatch for Dr. Strange yet since a lot of sites have been saying it was almost complete deal for him. Feige said anything not announced was either "Not true or in the works" and considering they have to start filming in the spring it's probably a thing of the ink is not dry yet on the contract.

Guardians of the galaxy 2

   Heck yeah! I loved the first Guardians of the galaxy and can't wait for the next one. Considering the first one made over $700 million dollars you know the next one is going to be huge and I love how the logo design reflected the tone of the movie (it looks like someone maybe Rocket took a paint can and sprayed over the logo.) Laid-back and doesn't give a shit.

Thor Ragnorak
  Really excited for this one because while I really like both Thor films my main complaint is that except for the first one Thor is kind of a back seat character to Loki hopefully this will put Thor up front and center to show what he could really do. Also my prediction Thor "dies" and gets sent to Ragnorak and so has to fight his way through hell.Which will be as badass as all hell (no pun intended.)

Black Panther
 Finally a black superhero with his own movie. Not the first black superhero because we have Iron Patriot/ War Machine and Falcon to thank for that. Black Panther is not only the first black superhero but he is also a really cool one because he is the KING OF HIS OWN COUNTRY you can generate so many movie ideas with that. Also the picture of his suit looks awesome as it's really comic accurate but still updated enough to look practical.

Captain Marvel
Awesome! I recently started to pick up the Captain Marvel (& Ms. Marvel) comics for Marvel now and it is really good. I can't wait for this movie to come out and it will be interesting to see what they do since they can do a lot of things with Carol Danvers but from the sounds of it they will be sending her up to space to do a cosmic story.

Inhumans
  Introducing the replacement to the X-men because Fox would rather drink Anti-freeze than give up the X-men! Still really excited for the Inhumans, just started reading Inhumans Marvel Now and they are really cool especially Medusa she is so badass. Interesting this will probably the answer to Game of Thrones as well due to the whole political fantasy aspect to it.

Avengers infinity war part 1 & 2
This along with the Harry Potter deathly Hollows movie is the only time I will say the whole two part thing is necessary considering since this seems like a massive story that would need to be in two parts. Interesting even more their are two movies in between part one and two leading me to believe this will be contained as two separate movies with the same story line running though.

So that's the Marvel movie slate and yeah... by 2019 I'll be pretty broke but super happy at the same time. Hopefully see you tomorrow but no promises.
