Weekend box office prediction~ Summer begins

So Summer begins hooray! Sadly by the end of the summer (and winter so some extent) I will be flat broke. The movie to kick of the Summer season is Avengers age of Ultron! I've been really looking foreword to this movie for a long time. I am more of a Marvel fan than DC (Don't call me a Marvel Fangirl because my favorite female character/superhero of comics is Barbara Gordon whose Batgirl/Oracle and my favorite villain of all time is Two-face) and I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The original Avengers movie (or Avengers Assembled in the UK) made about $200 million for it's weekend box office and it will be interesting to see how much it makes this time around. It definitely make A LOT of money due to the marketing, how good the last one was, the fact it's coming from the hype of Guardians of the galaxy and Daredevil (not finished yet but still really good.) It's already made $200 million European wise and it hasn't even hit the Asian markets which is the real money maker. This is my prediction.

Avengers age of ultron
Budget: $200 million
Weekend box office: $205-$210 million
Domestic box office: $450-$500 million
International box office:$550-$650 million
World wide box office: $1 billion- $1.15 billion dollars

I don't think it will be that bigger than the original Avengers but it should at least make five million more than the previous ones and while the reviews in comparison to other recent marvel movies and TV shows has been less than expected it should be a fun thing to watch.

Weekend Top 10
1.) Avengers age of Ultron
2.) Furious 7
3.) Paul Blart mall cop 2
4.)Age of Adaline
5.) Unfriended
6.) Home
7.) The longest ride
8.) Ex Machina
9.) Get hard
10.) Monkey Kingdom

That's my prediction for the weekend box office and hopefully see you Friday for ... something I'm still working out the editorial/rant/blog topic of Friday.

Weekend box office~ Nothing really changes

Ok I just now realized as I type this that while I did give a prediction for the age of Adaline (which I got right in the range it would be in) but I forgot to rank it in the Top 10 weekend box office, Woops. Yet while I did forget to rank it nothing really significant happened because Furious 7 is still number one and no movie really got above twenty million, most of the top ten stayed in the singles margin, now that will change this week when Avengers comes out but nothing really changed this week.

 Here's what happened.

Weekend box office
1.)Furious 7~ $17 million
2.) Paul Blart 2~ $14 million
3.)The Age of Adaline~ $13 million
4.) Home~ $ 8 million
5.) Unfriended- $6 million
6.) Ex Machina~ $ 5 million
7.) The Longest ride- $4 million
8.) Get Hard- $3.7 million
9.) Monkey Kingdom- $3.4 million
10.) Women in Gold~ $3.3 million

Again nothing really significant happened, I ended up being right, Ex Machina is doing good so far  and surprisingly Women in Gold is still hanging in their but kind of barely. So that's the weekend box office and see you on Wednesday for the prediction and hopefully I can do a full week like last week.

Wolf Children review

I originally wasn't going to review anything today because I haven't finished Daredevil yet (quick summary so far: I love it!) and Avengers in my country comes out next week. Yet today on the recommendation of Anime America Podcast (good channel watch their content) I watched Wolf Children a film that really surprised me in how good it was.

Wolf Children is a 2012 Japanese Animated film about thirteen years in the life of a young women named Hana and her Children her eldest daughter Yuki and her youngest son Ame. When Hana was 19 years old she met a man in her college seminar (whose name we don't learn in the movie) they fall madly in love but it's revealed the man is a werewolf, yet she doesn't care, they move in together and have two half-human, half-werewolf children but sadly the man dies and Hana is forced to raise her children ,who can transform at will into werewolves and humans, alone.

At first the premise is really outlandish and sounds silly but really this movie is just a slice of life story about a parenthood and growing up and it is completely delightful. Sometimes you don't need a badguy, an exciting tale of adventure or conflict to create an interesting and good movie and this film shows you that. I love slice of life movies especially focusing on the subject of family so this film was right up my alley.

This film is really realistic and relatable movie showing what parenthood and growing up is like. It's challenging, confusing, scary, sad and often times it gets you down but at the same time it's happy, funny, wonderful and comforting. As the film progresses you see these characters grow and change rapidly and by the end of the film they end up in very different places from where they started.

The characters are very likeable and relatable. Hana is a cheerful, loving person who often tries to be a good mother yet sometimes gets way over her head and doesn't know what to do like most parents, you see her struggle to teach these kids how to be people (or wolf-people) from a young age teaching them and giving them guidance as they grow. Yuki and Ame are also very likeable and relatable- Yuki is a manic ball of energy who has a bad temper and is kind of spoiled while Ame is a quiet, sweet, shy young boy but they don't stay that way throughout the film. As the film progresses, they grow up and start to form new personality traits with each event of the film. You see their triumphs, their losses, their insecurities, their desire's, their lessons and their thoughts unfold and it's very fascinating.

The side characters are also very good too, the werewolf dad was a very likeable and understandable guy and you can buy the romance between him and Hana. The neighbors were a lot of fun my favorite being Grandpa Nirasaki, I love those old men in films who appear as complete hardasses at first but turn out to be loving grandpa type figures. Sohei a character I wasn't too fond of at first turned out to have a very sweet and innocent relationship with Yuki later and made me really like him.

You can say if this is a slice of life why does it need the whole werewolf concept and that's because it helps develop the story and intertwines with the whole idea of parenthood and growing up. It helps emphasis Hana's worries over not be able to raise her kids properly (like most parents constantly fear), Yuki's insecurities and Ame's growing discontent with his world as of then.

The animation is also very beautiful  especially the snow day part of the movie, when they're playing in it is completely magical. I watched the English dub of this movie and it's very good, the stand out being Colleen Clinkenbeard as Hana who has this very soft, warm and gentle demeanor in her voice but when she's required to show negative emotions she does a fantastic job at it and she has a lot of range. The other voice actors do a really good job as well.

The ending of this movie is very bittersweet, my favorite kind of ending, where everything closes up and for the most part things are happy but their is still this lingering sadness prevalent.

I give this movie a 10/10~ It's almost perfect and I really recommend it, now if you don't like slice of life stories and think the whole wolf complex is just too strange for you that's find but I still say give this a chance, it's on YOUTUBE currently so check it out.

Editorial (kind of)-Not much but hey the new Joker got revealed!

I didn't really know what I was going to write for the editorial today and  was suffering from Writers block but today this photo came out revealing Jared Leto's Joker in the New Suicide Squad movie.

Hey I finally figured out how to put pictures in my blog hooray! Anyway about the picture, I was originally really excited for Jared Leto to play the Joker, he was a good actor, he looked right for the part of a classical style Joker and was a better pick for Joker rather than Doctor Strange. This was not what I was expecting.

I don't hate how he looks I just think he looks kind of stupid. He looks like a pro wrestler mixed with that douchebag you meet at the beach. I like the Joker Skull tattoo, and the HAHA on his left arm. I don't like the "Damaged" tattoo on his forehead and the one glove on his right hand which is weird along with the fact that the first image we see of the Joker he's shirtless, he hopefully will be fully clothed for the movie it's just interesting they chose to show this.

I know this was disappointing but I wanted to get something out for today and sound my full opinion on the look for the Joker and now I know I can put pictures on this properly without getting kicked out. I do feel bad for David Ayer because I am still excited to see his Suicide Squad movie and I think he's a good director so hopefully this picture doesn't reflect on the other members of the cast (especially Harley Quinn) but the fan art making fun of this has been going rampant in less than six hours.. See you soon hopefully for some kind of movie review soon.

Weekend box office prediction- The Blank Space

Upon looking at what's coming out this being the week before Avengers age of Ultron the only really movie of note that is coming out is the Age of Adaline which I have gotten the trailer to that for every movie I've seen in the last five months. I have literally not been able to escape this trailer no matter what movie I've seen. It doesn't look that bad, for a movie coming out the week before Avengers it's probably best it's coming out now. I like immortality stories so I might go see it. Anyway here's how I think it will do.

  Age of Adaline
Budget: $25 million
Weekend box office: $10-$15 million
Domestic box office: $40-$50 million
International box office: $10-$15 million
World wide box office: $50-$65 million

This movie will do ok not a total bomb but it won't be that profitable mainly because despite the story it seems a bit average in places. Also I think the budget might be way higher than $25 million considering how much marketing I've seen for this movie, it's not Amazing Spider-man 2 levels of marketing but still a lot. Anyway that's the weekend box office for possibly an editorial.

Weekend box office- My mom accidently shut down my computer and It didn't turn on Sorry.

A/N: My house has a weird electrical system and when my mom turned on a switch my computer turned off and wouldn't come back until today I'm really sorry it was an accident.

I couldn't see any movies because of the fact I had an American History essay to do and it was really, really hard to do. Not to mention I had relatives over on Saturday until 10:00 pm and I was pretty much ready to pass out. I forgot to mention Unfriended in my weekend box office prediction and sorry about that I completely forgot about it.

Either way Unfriended and Paul Blart 2 didn't do anything amazing, it did good enough for their budgets probably (especially Unfriended their is no way that movie went over $500,000 unless copy right is way more troublesome than I think.) but it still couldn't compare to Furious 7 which entered the Billion dollar club, awesome!  So here's how they did.

Weekend box office
1.) Furious 7- $29 million
2.) Paul Blart Mall Cop 2- $23 million
3.) Unfriend- $15 million
4.) Home- $ 10 million
5.) The Longest Ride- $7 million
6.) Get Hard- $4.9 million
7.) Women in Gold- $4.6 million
8.)  Monkey Kingdom- $4.5 million
9.) Insurgent- $4 million
10.) Cinderella- $4 million

I literally have little enthusiasm right now after Yesterday again sorry. Anyway see you tomorrow hopefully for the weekend box office prediction have a nice night.

Star Wars Force Awakens Trailer Breakdown

So on Star Wars celebration J.J Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, and some of the cast members of the Force awakens had a panel for the movie and released a second teaser trailer for the movie. I overall still like the trailer but I prefer the epicness of the first teaser trailer which still feels epic even after a couple of viewings.

I have an interesting little history with the Star Wars franchise. Before my seventh grade year I really didn't know just how iconic, worshiped and historical the Star Wars franchise, to me it was just another Sci-Fi franchise. I liked both the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy equally, they were just fun and entertaining to watch. It was only when I got into movies the way I am into movies now was when I found out how BIG it was and what it means to people and what it did for cinema so I went to watch it again to see if I could get the same feeling what other people felt and my reaction was the same. I liked it fine, felt nothing that special and I just considered it a fun franchise.

I know I should be hung and sent to center of the earth but Star Wars just never really did it for me. It might be because I didn't grow up around the hype and didn't really see any of the movies until I was about eight but I just could never get that into them. I love science fiction movies and TV shows but I'm more of a Star Trek, Doctor Who, Back to the Future and Planet of the Apes fan.

Star Wars never really did it for me, I never really liked most of the characters except for Obi-Wan Kenobi and R2-D2, I didn't buy the romance between Han and Leia (I really don't like those love-hate romances all that much), I found it kind of weird how in the original trilogy how only one women seemed to exist in the universe and even then I didn't find her that interesting, except in the prequel trilogy the worlds never did it for me either nor did the story or any of the ideas in it impressed me. I can see why people like it and I can respect what it did for cinema but it's not my kind of thing.

And Yet I am excited for Star Wars the Force Awakens because it looks good. I like the diverse cast, I like the costumes and practical effects, I like the more morally grey tone and I love passing the torch and legacy stories. Not to mention it looks just blatantly good. So since I for once am excited for a Star Wars film for the first time and a lot of people are extremely excited for a new Star Wars film I've decided to do a break down, so get zeroed out now lets begin.

Star Wars Force awakens breakdown

0:00-0:13: Lucas Film Logo and it's strange we didn't see any kind of Disney logo.

0:16-0:19: We see the desert planet from the first trailer which was revealed to be Jakku instead of Tatooine, I think they could have come up with something more interesting than another desert planet but I'm ok with it.

0:20-0:22: Crashed X-wing I think.

0:23-0:30: Awesome shot of the crashed Straw Destroyer, which at first I thought it was a mountain but it turned out to be something different. Whether this and the X-wing literally crashed here or whether Jakku is a dumping ground for star ships which would be a cool angle to take and explain the Scavengers we might see.

0:38-0:40: Luke Skywalker voice over which I here is from Return of the Jedi originally with some minor remixing. He seems to be talking to his apprentice or somebody random, some people think he's talking to his off spring but why would he say "My family" instead of "Our family?" I do think he will have a kid in the movie but whoever he's not talking to in this scene.

0:41: Amazing shot of the destroyed Darth Vader helmet, interesting to see what this means for the movie and what role posthumously Darth Vader will play. It interesting to see who has and is holding the skull currently, it's most likely Luke but it could be anyone.

0:46-0:47: We see what is most likely Luke Skywalker's robotic hand pressing against R2-D2 in what looks to be a lava based planet either that or there is a really huge fire going on in front of them. Rumors have been circulating that Luke Skywalker has gone hermit mode since Return of the Jedi and has been doing something in secret. It will be interesting to see what that will be but if I had to speculate he might be guarding something or someone trying to make sure no one gets to it. Also great to see even after nearly thirty years R2-D2 still has Luke back.

0:54: Most likely Leia (Queen or Ambassador who knows) is handed what looks to be based on what's been said and other rumors Luke's old light saber. It will be interesting to see what role she plays and I hope it's a substantial one, Leia never really got to do much in the original trilogy, at least nothing specific to her or any sort of character arc. I hope she is able to use some type of force powers even if it's very little.

1:03: More like coming out December 18th about a week or so before Christmas.

1:06: Good shot of the X-wings really like how the effects are looking here a good mix of practical and CGI.

1:07: Of the new trilogy we've got a look at Oscar Isaac's character Poe Dameron. The new swashbuckler arrogant, cocky guy of the new trilogy. I typically don't like the cocky guy in a movie, mainly because in real life I find that kind of guy annoying but I will give Poe a chance mainly because he's got a really good actor behind him. Poe in this movie is an X-wing pilot whose given a special mission by Leia which makes him cross paths with Finn and Rey which starts the movie. I have a theory about Poe but I will be quiet about it until I have more evidence than random speculation.

1:08: A really quick shot of Kylo Ren who has the best name so far and I don't care if it may be impractical the cross guard light saber is a welcome creative decision and it just looks cool. Most likely by process of elimination and of the full body shot of him in the last trailer it's most likely Adam Driver mainly because his height and frame match the guy and due to rumors.

1:09-1:10: Rey, Finn and BB-8 running as an explosion goes off in the background. In the distance you can see an empire ship (I don't know what they are called) and since Finn is a former storm trooper they are most likely looking for him. We also seem to be seeing Daisy Ridley's Rey's scavenger tribe being attacked. I also really love their outfits.

1:11: Another cool shot of Kylo Ren in front of an army of storm troopers, so he's probably working for the empire.

1:13: Third Reich Storm troopers. In the background we see a guy on what appears to be a podium and giving a speech. Based on certain rumors that may or may not be Domhall Gleeson playing the general who has an interesting theory/rumor behind him but I won't say until the next trailer when we might have more substantial  evidence.

1:13-1:14: Daisy Ridley as Rey. Before celebration their were rumors that she would be the daughter of Han Solo and Leia but we recently found out she was actually a scavenger which I'm glad of. It gives her, her own unique backstory of being a scavenger, learning to survive by her resourcefulness and from other scenes in the trailer seems to be apart of a scavenger tribe which sounds awesome. I also think Han and Leia won't have any kids in the movie but I think Luke will most likely a son.

1:15: I feel so sorry for that one storm trooper being flipped over by the explosion because if he's not dead he's most likely horribly burned and/or crippled. Anyway we have a Storm Trooper space station being attacked. I am really interested in the Storm Trooper perspective in this which brings me too...

1:17: Finn played by John Boyega. I am really excited to see this guy and the character because Boyega's a good actor and super charismatic and again really interested in the Storm Trooper perspective. I hope he actually genuinely joined the empire and he's not like a spy or something, because him joining the empire of his own volition  and changes his mind after most likely witnessing something horrible would be way more interesting in my opinion. He has a panicked looked on his face and is sweating profusely, this could mean he's witnessed something horrible happen.  Either someone important or someone he knew died, something sick happened or was given a task he could not do. It also seems to be in the same place where the Storm Troopers were being attacked earlier.

1:20: Chrome Trooper. Based on rumors and frame this is most likely Gwendoline Badass Christie. The rumor is that Christie is playing Boyega's superior and when he goes rouge she is the one hunting him down which sounds really badass. You also tell this person is of superior rank, due to the fact it looks like as if she has a golden blaster and a cape.

1:21: Get ready for the newest Christmas present the cutest thing in the world BB-8. He was probably the best part of the Celebration panel and I knew he was a practical from the beginning but I thought their would be a pipe system thing but I was surprised when I saw no pipes so I have to imagine it's some kind of magnetic device making him movie. He is so adorable and I hope the panel foreshadowed a fun rivalry between him and R2-D2 which would be so cute.

1:22-1:23: Rey and Finn interacting and this seems to be after they meet for the first time since Finn is not in his storm trooper uniform anymore.

1:25-1:31: This movie seems like it's going to have a lot of awesome fight battles with really good special effects.

1:35: "Chewie we're home." Awesome reveal of Han Solo (who will probably die) and Chewbacca (who will probably go out with him) and a good line to sign out the trailer on and very meta in a good way. People complained about the fact Chewie had no white hairs which is untrue because there is a picture of Chewbacca leaning over J.J Abrams and it's clear most of the darker areas of his fur are completely grey. It's most likely the lighting that makes it looks like he has no grey hairs.

That's my Star Wars breakdown and see you Sunday for some sort of review.

Weekend box office prediction~ Paul Blart.... it won't be good

A/n: I know I missed yesterday but I had a debate tournament which eats up most of my night.

Yeah the Star Wars force awakens second teaser came out and I finally have something for my new editorial... Finally. Anyway keep an eye out for that now it's time for the weekend box office prediction.

Currently we are in a bit of a dead zone until May when Avengers age of Ultron comes out, really the only movie coming out is Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 which looks kind of bad. I have fond memories of the first Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, it was a fun underdog movie and I've always been able to enjoy Kevin James movies more than any of the  Adam Sandler comedies in the last couple of years. Sadly I think Kevin James has faded faster and harder than Adam Sandler which is sad because even when he plays complete jerks Kevin James is still really likeable. Anyway here's my prediction:

Paul Blart Mall Cop 2
Budget: $30 million
weekend box office: $20-$30 million
Domestic box office: $55-$65 million
International box office: $65-$75 million
World Wide box office: $120-$140 million

Hollywood movie budgets sometimes astounds me like this for example, how can a movie about a mall cop in a hotel cost close to $30 million dollars? This is probably going to do horribly as well when you think about it, it looks bad and there is next to no interest in seeing it nor did it need to be made. Anyway that's my prediction see you next time.

Weekend box office- I know, I know

I am sorry I have a life and problems and things to do outside of movie junkies and while I try to do my best life just gets to you and upheavals everything. I hope to get things somewhat back on track this week but I can't make any promises.

This weekend the only movie that came out was Nicholas Sparks latest adapted movie starring Clint Eastwood's son Scott Eastwood. It did bad considering it opened at $13 million at $36 million, and the weekend box office almost always goes down so it probably won't make it's money back. Also Furious 7 in ten days made about $800 million dollars which is good and it's probably going to break one billion dollars which is a good legacy for Paul Walker that he stared in a one billion dollar movie. I know it doesn't matter but it's still cool.

Weekend box office
1.)Furious 7~ $59 million
2.)Home- $18 million
3.) The Longest Ride- $13 million
4.) Get Hard- $ 8 million
5.) Cinderella- $7 million
6.) Insurgent- $6 million
7.) Women in Gold- $5 million
8.) It follows- $1.9 million
9.) Danny Collins- $1.4 million
10.) While were young- $1.3 million

That's the weekend box office and see you hopefully Wednesday for the Prediction but no promises.

Weekend box office prediction~ Sorry

I know, I know I'm sorry. It's the end of the year and I've been swamped with prepping for final exams so it's been difficult lately. I am trying to do this more on schedule and I will have an editorial on Mean girls (editorial not a review) coming on Friday. Anyway time for the weekend box office.

The only really movie of note is Nicholas Sparks adaptation the Longest Ride. Which due to Furious 7 and the fact I think people are catching on to the blandness that is Nicholas Sparks this movie will probably die on impact. I don't mind Nicholas Sparks mainly because in most of his books/movies have two plots, the main one which is just a blatant romance between dull and uninteresting characters and a secondary plot which is way more interesting and in all honesty could be it's own novel. In the Notebook I found the old couple dealing with the problems of time and Alzheimer's much more emotionally involving, The Best of me has a much more interesting if dumb subplot about an abusive drug hustling household, Safe Harbor is just a cool thriller book/movie in need of an editor, and the Longest Ride is the same as the second plot about the WWII couple seems much more interesting than the Modern day couple.

    Here's my prediction;

Weekend box office prediction
Budget: N/A
Weekend box office:$11-$20 million
Domestic box office: $30-$45 million
International box office: $40-$50 million
World Wide box office: $70-95 million

While I can't find the budget for the Longest Ride, most of these Nicholas Sparks movies are super cheap to make. So even if this film only does $70 million it will still be technically profitable to a degree. I just wish Nicholas Sparks would write something else that isn't a Romance novel or at the least where the Romance isn't the most important thing because he can't get creative with his second plots as I mentioned earlier even if they are a bit trashy but in a fun way.

Furious 7 review

Spoilers

Where to begin with this franchise. The Fast & Furious franchise has gone through a lot of development since it's humble beginnings in 2001. The first three The Fast & The Furious, 2 Fast & 2 Furious , and Tokyo Drift were slanted in the usual dumb action movie franchises that managed to survive by it's fan base and was largely ignored by and cited as bad by the main stream audience (casual movie goers) and critics. Then all of the sudden with Fast & Furious (the fourth one) under director Justin Lin it managed to become seen as something kind of tolerable by everybody, still nothing interesting or that great but OK. That was until the fifth one directed again by Justin Lin, it turned out the be a surprise hit that a lot of people not just the usual fan base but mainstream movie goers and critics really liked. The sixth one even bigger and the new one Furious 7 (even though Fast 7 sounds more catchy) directed by James Wan the movie has come under critical praise and is schedule for an over $143 million dollar opening weekend. That's amazing.

To me it the reason they've been able to turn it around this well is that the people behind realized how serious they were taking the franchise and embraced the ridiculous nature of these kinds of films balancing it well with some dignity. My own personal opinion on the movies is I really like the first one despite how bad it is, found the second and third one kind of boring, the fourth one was OK, I loved the fifth one, the sixth one is pretty good and I really like it if not as good as the fifth one and the latest one Furious 7 is to me the second best one in the series and my second favorite.

The main plot of this franchise is that Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) brother to Owen Shaw wants revenge for what Dominic Torretto (Vin Diesel) and Brain O'Connor (the late Paul Walker) as well as the rest of their crew did to his brother in the last movie. He starts relentlessly hunting down the crew  managing to Kill Han ( Sung Kang), and seriously injure Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson.) After an attack on Han's funeral Dom is given a way to track down Shaw by covert ops specialist Petty (Kurt Russell), if he can rescue a hacker named Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) from terrorist one of whom is Moses Jakande ( Djimon Hounsou), who has a special computer program that can track anyone in the world, if they can find Ramsey and the computer program they can use it to track Shaw and enact revenge on him.

That is probably one of the most convoluted plots in the world and should really be strike against the movie but I loved this movie. The movie is a lot fun and actually has some really touching moments in it and the ending is basically perfect.

The plot while a bit much to interpret at first you can figure it out pretty easily and it fits well with the last four films tone of ridiculousness with dignity. The plot of rescuing hackers and super trackers with covert ops teams is ridiculous but the in between stuff and the revenge and family motivations are believable so it gives the film dignity. It's also one of the more tightly structured of the Fast movies along with five and it spends all 137 minutes well.

The action set pieces are really good my favorite being the tower crash scene and you definitely won't be bored. People often criticize that a lot of the action sequences are a little too unbelievable but to me I think the action sequences exist in a realm where while they probably wouldn't happen under certain circumstances and theoretically I think they could happen. For example crashing through three buildings while you would probably die from shock I can believe to certain extent you could crash through three skyscrapers if you had enough speed and a good enough car. As well as the fact most of the action sequences are just plain awesome so you don't really care.

My favorite parts of these films are seeing the chemistry between all the actors and it's still here, this film isn't as funny or banter filled as the last film but it still manages to have so funny moments mainly with Tyrese Gibson who to me is still the heart of the movie. Everyone is genuine and you can tell is having a lot of fun even Kurt Russell who has a pretty good moments and is funny as well. They managed to give Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Brain O'Connor pretty well realized character arcs in my opinion and give the film a lot of good moments. To me some of the best moments were whenever the characters were just talking and the more emotional moments and they didn't feel force but instead felt natural considering what some of these guys have been through. Although their is this 'What' moment with Tej Parker (Ludacris) that is the equivalent of Vin Diesel beating up the Rock in the fifth film where despite this being a franchise that has people driving cars out of planes is a bit too much.

If I do have big complaints about the movie is that I think the underutilized Statham just a bit, don't get me wrong he is one of the best villians of the franchise, I like his motivations and the opening with his is just completely badass I think they could have given him one or two more scenes to give him room to be himself. I also wish the Hacker Rasmey got more to do, she's important to the plot but other than a few hacking jobs she doesn't really do much and I wish that Ludacris scene had been given to her. Especially in comparison to Michelle Rodriguez who has a pretty kickass fight with a female body guard (Ronda Rousey) who I hear that the one line she was given annoyed a lot of critics but I thought it was ok and fits the tone of the movie. Also I know showing off girls body parts is a thing is the movie but this seemed to have the most ass shots in any movie ever especially during the Dubai party and it takes you out of the movie because of how much of an emphasis they put on it.

Now of course the thing everyone wants to talk about is the death of Paul Walker and how it affects the movie. Surprisingly James Wan and the other people behind it handled really well, it doesn't feel like anything was really affected except the scenes you can tell he hadn't filmed before he died in which is really just one action scene and they just darken the scenery and shoot him from behind but overall nothing really lost. To me the best part of the movie is the last five minutes and how they send Paul Walker out which is just beautiful, basically perfect and one of the few times I've ever cried in a theater. And I'm pretty stone cold when it comes to sad scenes in movies (only person who didn't cry during Marley & Me) so you know it's effective.

I give this film a 8/10~ Great action, great chemistry, great moments and a perfect send off to a guy who left way too soon.

The only thing now is, is where do they go. I hope they don't make a Furious 8 because not only is this the perfect send off to Paul Walker but the entire franchise in general, a lot of storylines are wrapped and it feels as if you could just slap on 'And they all lived happily ever after' and it would be good.

So that's my review of Furious 7 and see you tomorrow for the weekend box office which I spoiled who is probably going to be number one.

Weekend box office prediction- Happy April Fool's day

Happy April Fool's day the only day where the internet gets an excuse to be a jerk! Making false news stories for giggles is my kind of holiday especially seeing people react in the comments section of articles and video's. Not on Movie Junkie though, here your getting a straightforward article (I promise.)

The biggest movie of note is Fast 7 (I know it's titled Furious 7 but be honest and that Fast 7 has a better ring to it.) I love the Fast and Furious franchise, I know it's a total bro movie franchise but I still love it Fast 5 being my favorite and to me being the best. Here's my prediction.

Fast/Furious 7
Budget: $250 million
Weekend box office: $105-$120
Domestic box office: $200-$350 million
International box office: $400-$700 million
Worldwide box office: $600-$1.05 billion

With the fact each movie is making more and more money and the unfortunate death of Paul Walker expect this movie to make big. On a personal note I know this will be big because I can't review this weekend because the movie theater that I was going to see it at sold out on a Wednesday! That's says a lot.

Weekend box office
1.) Fast/Furious 7
2.)Home
3.) Insurgent
4.) Cinderella
5.) Get Hard
6.) It follows
7.) Kingsmen
8.) Do you believe?
9.) Run all night
10.)The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

That's my prediction for the weekend box office and Happy April Fools!
