Weekend box office prediction~ Suicide Squad prelude

Good god there is pretty much nothing coming out this week.

Ok so the only new movie coming out is the new Will Smith movie focus. I've seen the trailer for that in other movies and it looks ok nothing really that terrible compared to Will Smith's last movie After nap. It looks like a simple early 2000's crime movie that should be fun to watch overall. What's interesting is that Margot Robbie (no I'm not talking about the possible Brad-Pitt-Angelina-Jolie thing they may or may not having going on and I don't care) stars in this as well and She's going to be Harley Quinn in the suicide Squad movie and Will Smith is going to be Deadshot so it will be interesting to see them work together before that and how Margot Robbie does as an actress. I haven't seen Wolf of Wall street (didn't want to and even if I did I couldn't go at the time) but I've heard she's really good in it.

I don't see this making a ton of money since public opinion of Will Smith has turned in the last couple years (nepotism and the fact he's apparently a bad sport) and not many people have been exposed to Margot Robbie really other than Wolf of Wall street. Hopefully this might give them both some help before the Suicide Squad movie to get some buzz.

Here's my prediction for the movie, also I'm adding the movie in question budget to this now so you guys can see and compare how this movie does when all is said and done:

Weekend box office

 Focus's budget: $50 million
 Weekend box office: $25-$45
 Domestic box office: $45-$55
International box office: $55-$95 million
World wide box office: $100-$150 million

I see this making enough money to get it's money back since it's budget is pretty small (well in movie terms $50 is not a lot of money and most of that probably went towards Will Smith's paycheck) and hopefully it won't bomb or anything.

So that's my weekend box office prediction and on Friday.... Assassination Classroom! (It's manga)

Weekend box office &What happened to me and different schedule structure

Yeah I know I skipped a week last week was my birthday, I had a debate tournament and my grandfather was in the hospital really hectic week. Now I'm in  high school still and my schedule is only going to get more hectic from here on out but I do want to keep this up and not skip it even if I get lazy (or forget like yesterday) so Monday will still be weekend box office and Wednesday will be weekend box office prediction, but Friday will now be my editorial or column or more likely rant and Sunday will most likely be my movie reviews since I can't typically see movies just purely on Friday's like some people can. I really hope I can keep to this schedule.

So anyway back to the movie box office

Since we're still in the desert days of movie releases only three movies of any real note were released. The first one is Hot tub time machine 2 which I didn't even know existed until two months ago and I've only seen bits and pieces of the first one.

The second one was The Duff which I've seen the trailer for and it looks strangely a lot like it was made by the same studio who made G.B.F (yes I did watch that movie out of curiosity) in other words while not looking out right terrible it does look really cheap and the depiction of high school life and high school students as very, very clichéd (In all my time as a high school student I have never heard of the word Duff used by anyone I know nor do we really have click's anymore and while we do have titles they're not titles I can type without offending anyone or getting censored.)

The third movie was McFarland USA one of the really those really trite after school inspirational specials that you can literally put side by side with four others of these and get the near exact same movie. While I do believe and even know really inspiring and wise teachers can't it for once the STUDENTS themselves pushing hard for a good future, it would be way more impactful if it was just the student him or her self working hard to get somewhere.

  Anyway here's how they did:

Weekend box office
1.) Fifty shades of Grey- $22 million
2.) Kingsman secret service- $18 million
3.) SpongeBob Squarepants Out of water- $16 million
4.) McFarland- $11 million
5.) The Duff- $10.8 million
6.) American Sniper- $10 million
7.) Hot Tub machine- $ 5 million
8.) Jupiter Ascending- $ 3 million
9.) The imitation- $2.5 million
10.) Paddington- $2.4 million

So that's the weekend box office and hopefully I can keep up with this schedule.

Weekend box office prediction~ Guilty secrets

This weekend is Valentine's day weekend and two movies are coming out to compete for the couples valentine day date money. Fifty Shades of Grey where girls are going to drag there boyfriends too or Boyfriends will be dragging their girlfriends to and girls who don't want to see bad smut to see Kingsman secret Service. Here's my prediction:

Fifty Shades of Grey
Weekend box office: $45-$70 million
Domestic box office: $80-$110 million
International box office: $80-$120 million
World wide box office: $160-$230 million

Yeah Fifty Shades of Grey is going to make a LOT of money. No matter what anyone says or if this movie turns out to be The Room of romance movies, it will make a lot of money at least in it's opening weekend. The fanbase is too big and I already know both friends and family who are going to go see this movie, even some who know it's bad but read it as a guilty pleasure. So yeah while I am so not seeing this movie (not to mention I can't) get ready for fifty shades darker and fifty shades free.

Kingsmen secret service
Weekend box office: $45-$50 million
Domestic box office:$ 70-$95 million
International box office: $50-$95 million
World wide box office: $120-$190 million

This movie looks really cool and has really good word of mouth but Fifty shades of Grey is going to kill the movie sorry Matthew Vaughn.

Weekend box office
1.) Fifty Shades of Grey
2.) SpongeBob out of water
3.) Kingsmen secret service
4.) American Sniper
5.) Jupiter Ascending
6.) Seventh Son
7.) Project Almanac
8.) Paddington
9.) Wedding Ringer
10.) Imitation game

That's my prediction for my weekend box office and hopefully some kind of editorial tomorrow.

Weekend box office~ I feel good

Huh despite being all but cancelled it looks like people still love or at the very least have a fond
memory for SpongeBob which despite me not liking the look of the movie (it actually has a lot of positive reviews from what I'm seeing) does make me feel better. I actually guessed where SpongeBob and Jupiter Ascending would rank on the weekend box office which is a win for me and makes me feel even better. I do feel bad for the Wachwoski's because they've had terrible luck since Matrix reloaded and for Jeff Bridges too because he's been having bad luck. So this is what happened this weekend.

Weekend box office
1.) SpongeBob out of water- $55 million
2.) American Sniper- $28 million
3.) Jupiter Ascending- $18 million
4.) Seventh Son- $7 million
5.) Project Almanac- $5.23 million
6.) Paddington- $5.22 million
7.) The Wedding Ringer-$4.7 million
8.) Imitation game- $4.6 million
9.) Black and White- $4.5 million
10.) The Boy next door-$4 million

That's the weekend box office and see you Wednesday for the box office prediction.

Editorial- Daredevil Trailer breakdown

So the first trailer for the first Marvel Netflix TV show project was uploaded yesterday so I decided to do my first editorial of 2015 (and in a long time.) I still have no idea how to upload pictures so you might want to pull up another tab on your laptop or pull up your phone to watch this.

Here we go.

0:00-0:04: First shot of what looks like New York and it looks like it's in Brooklyn even though it's suppose to be Hell's kitchen which isn't as Dangerous anymore when it was in the sixties.

0:05-0:08: First shot of Daredevil's cane

0:09-0:013: The first time we hear Matt Murdock's voice and Charlie Cox actually has a good American accent (he's Irish) for narration. We see Daredevil in a church seemingly approaching a priest. Catholicism and just religion in general has always been an important part of Daredevil's history as he is a devout Catholic and his mom is a nun. Also first shot of Daredevils iconic glasses

0:15: Something or someone drops down from the sky

  0:16: Nice six pack Charlie

0:17-0:20: Our first look at the use of Daredevil's sensory abilities and I like that whereas in the Affleck Daredevil his was more of a bat sonar ability here it's just genuinely a sensory ability as rather than turn his head he sort of just nods to the side like a real blind person would.

0:21-0:23: Some shots of what looks like gangs and some big drug dealing business showing that this is going to be a way more darker and gritty side than we've ever seen before.

0:24-0:26: Our first shots of Deborah Anne Wolf as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. Foggy is Daredevil's best friend and law partner and has been around the Daredevil comic since the beginning recently in the comics he developed Cancer and went into hiding. Karen Page was Foggy and Daredevil's secretary and Daredevil's love interest, sort of his Mary-Jane (with Elektra being his Black Cat and Milla Donovan being his Gwen Stacey) as in a love interest he keeps coming back to even though it's been show no matter what this relationship will not work out. Karen in the comics has gone through a lot of stuff including becoming a cocaine addict and porn star. In this she seems to be in for a murder as another shot shows what I presume is her due to the hair color over a dead body.

0:27-0:28: Scott Glenn as Stick Daredevil's martial arts master and mentor. He is also blind in both the comics and from the looks of his eyes the TV show. He is also the mentor of Elektra a marvel assassin and one of Daredevil's most prominent love interest.

0:29: I like that they're probably potraying Matt Murdock as an actual blind person with the whole expressionless staring straight ahead face but unlike Affleck Charlie Cox looks like he's going to be able to emote very well.

0:30-0:31: Peter Shinkoda he's playing a new character named Hachiro who looks to be a crime boss of sorts.

0:32-0:35: First shot of the  Wilson Fisk King Pin one of my favorite Marvel villains and one of Marvel's premiere scumbags (although if they do him right The purple man in Jessica Jones is going to be way more messed up.) Vincent D'Onfrio is a very good actor and I hope he kills it as King Pin.  He looks to be in some sort of Art gallery where in the show his girlfriend (in the comics wife) Vanessa works at.

0:36: Blink and you'll miss it shot of Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple Night Nurse. I don't know much about night nurse other than she's another superhero and it's always good to have more female heroes in the Marvel universe. Rosario Dawson is a good actress and while I don't know much about Night Nurse I can't wait to see her.

0:37-0:38: Another shot of Daredevil's glasses

0:40-0:041: Daredevil in a confessional booth confessing to the priest about what's done or as we find out later what he's about to do (cool line by the way.)

0:42-0:45: Daredevil on a rooftop and notice how around him in this scene there are distorted noises of people talking which gets me very excited even more about how they are using his abilities to it's full potential on the small (or medium) screen.

0:46-1:02: I wouldn't want to run into this guy in that really dark dirty hallway he's in. We get a first look at what is rumored to be his first of many costumes and I hope we do eventually get to his traditional red costume but I have faith we'll get to it but I like the idea of him having a starter suit and as he works his way up get slowly builds up to his classic red suit (or his original red and yellow suit but only in my fangirl dreams.)

1:03: An apartment or a night club being seemingly destroyed.

1:04-1:06: Daredevil in a really cool looking choreographed fight. I can't wait to see the action for this show.

1:07: I think Karen Page again.

1:08-1:09: Daredevil in another cool looking fight and a building which is probably the apartment or nightclub being blown up.

1:10: Daredevil confronting King Pin. They are going to fight by the end of this series but most likely this is there first meeting as they're clearly in a public place so it would be a bad place to get into a fight with so many witnesses around.

1:11-1:13: It looks like Daredevil just threw a guy out a window and into a car, this along with most of the fights shown is probably going to be his first outing as a superhero.

1:14-1:20: Daredevil logo looks very cool and very 70's detective logo

1:21-1:23: Daredevil who's either in a pool of his own blood, bleeding out of his mouth and throwing up blood or just had his teeth knocked out.

End of trailer

Daredevil is my favorite male superhero of all time and while I didn't get to see his suit this does look like a very good show and it seems to be balancing out the dark and seriousness very well without being too self-serious (ahem...Fantastic Four...) April can't come sooner for me but until then time to get back to Agent Carter (seriously go watch it Tuesdays episode was phenomenal.)

Weekend box office prediction- Ok time to pick my poison

I know this is a day late I am sorry I had a debate tournament yesterday so I was really busy and was kind of humiliated yesterday so I was in a bad mood. I am doing an editorial I'm doing a Daredevil trailer breakdown. Which will come up later around eight. I also hope to see a movie this weekend to maybe for once due a full week.

Anyway three movies come out this weekend.

The first is SpongeBob out of water which defeats the whole purpose of SpongeBob and looks really terrible, and I've already had my childhood slaughtered with The Last Airbender I don't need SpongeBob a TV show I've been a fan of since I was three and this movie looks awful.

The next is Jupiter Ascending which I am probably seeing, it looks gorgeous and a lot of fun but what I've been hearing it looks cool and is a lot of fun but has a very bad story and characters though so we will see how that turns out.

The last one is Seventh Son, which has had a really interesting history it was originally suppose to come out in February of 2013 but then it got pushed back to October, then it got moved to January of 2014 than after the Legendary and Warner bros split it got moved to this year. And after seeing a couple trailers it probably should have come out in 2013 or 2012 because for a movie that has dragons, monsters and knights in it, it looks really boring and with 2013 and 2014 burn out of Young Adult novel adaptations (which Seventh Son is from a YA novel) it should have come out around that time or earlier. As well as the fact I think Jeff Bridges with The Giver (despite the fact I thought it was ok) and R.I.P.D his star power is in the decline you can tell this was being made back when True Grit had just come out.

  SpongeBob out of Water
Weekend box office: $25-$35 million
Domestic box office: $50-$55 million
International box office: $55-$85 million
World Wide box office: $105-$140 million

SpongeBob is I think on Hiatus and it's in a weird production flux and while I love the show and still have fond memories of it I don't know it other people do or that SpongeBob is as popular as it used to back when I used to watch it. It will probably be number one but It's not going to be number one by much.

Jupiter Ascending
Weekend box office: $30-$40 million
Domestic box office: $50-$70 million
International box office: $75-$100 million
World wide box office: $125-$170 million

The Wachowskis have not had a good track records with bombs such as Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas. I don't hate the Wachowskis all they're movies have looked really pretty and are fun in terms of action but they are bad storytellers and character writers. I did not like the original Matrix I'm sorry I know it's a classic and I understand but I do not like the movie. That being said the  marketing campaign has been good for this movie which marketing can make or break a movie it did for things like Pacific Rim and Dredd.

The Seventh Son
Weekend box office: $ 10-$15 million
Domestic box office: $30-$40 million
International box office: $20-$40 million
World wide box office: $50-$80 million

Yeah I'm sorry but the movie looks so boring and a it looks like a piece of shit. With the insane release date checkers this movie has been playing and the fact it just looks terrible and that when this movie was released in France and some press screening it's been getting terrible reviews. So sorry Jeff Bridges another bomb for you.

Weekend box office
1.) SpongeBob Out of water
2.) American Sniper
3.) Jupiter Ascending
4.) Paddington
5.) Project Almanac
6.) Black and White
7.) Seventh Son
8.) The boy next door
9.) Wedding Ringer
10.) Imitation game

Yeah this week isn't a good week for movies as the movies being released from looks-decent-to-looks-like-shit-to-why-are-you-doing this. So see you later for the Daredevil break down and have a good day.

weekend box office- What is the loft?

I really hate my state's school education system, mainly state mandated test, not just because I don't like taking taste but because they are so unnecessary and end up taking away from education. It's just really frustrating.

Now I'm sorry for the lack of review I had a family get together and nothing was out for me to see in my local theater. Still a couple of movies came out Project Almanac (which looked ok), Black or white ( which looked bad) and The loft (which I've seen nothing for and know so little about.) Here's what happened:

Weekend box office
1.) American Sniper- $31 million
2.) Paddington- $8.5 million
3.) Project Almanac- $8.5 million
4.) Black and white- $6.4 million
5.) The boy next door- $ 6 million
6.) The wedding ringer- $6.7 million
7.) The imitation game- $5 million
8.) Taken 3- $3.6 million
9.) Strange magic- $3.4 million
10.) The loft- $2 million

That was the weekend box office and all of the slots make sense except for The loft which I heard nothing about so I'm surprised it made $2 million dollars. Now back to stupid testing goodbye.
